Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the second session of Media Mahamanthan 2022 organised by Organiser and Panchjanya. In the interaction, Shri Dhami answered the questions posed to him
What do you think about the migration and employment situation in your State?
There are many schemes which are being implemented on the ground. Youth will get benefit from this. Prime Minister Modi, who thinks about self-reliance, our State is moving in that direction. Opportunities are emerging in tourism, horticulture and other sectors. We are promoting Self Help Group which is working to connect lakhs of people.
Apart from the Char Dhams, the roads in other places have not been developed?
It is not true. The roads in the areas around Kedarnath are being developed. The roads connecting Char-Dham are being repaired.
Has Uttarakhand become a safe haven for criminals?
Strict action is being taken against those who break the law. There is no place in our State for criminals.
The number of Rohingyas increased in the State?
Our Government has identified such people under a special drive and necessary action is being taken. There is also an eye on such people who come from other States and settle here. The anti-conversion law is also being strictly enforced.
Will you enact a Uniform Civil Code in the State?
Uttarakhand is the land of God, Ganga-Yamuna, the centre of religion and spirituality. The State shares two international borders. At least one member in every family is in the Army. A committee has been constituted to make laws and implement Uniform Civil Code. We will bring and implement this law very soon. Rest of the States should also implement it.
Cases of encroachment have increased in Devbhoomi. Many illegal shrines are being built?Of course, I speak sweetly, but I do my work strictly. Any kind of encroachment will not be tolerated. People have broken all the myths by giving us an absolute majority. In the election, we had kept our word with the people. We will move forward with nationalism and development.
