A case has been filed against PFI office bearers in Madurai after posters emerged criticising the Tamil Nadu Governor, calling him an RSS supporter.

In a book launch function of ‘The Lurking Hydra: South Asia’s Terror Travail” in Chennai on May 6, Governor RN Ravi described the PFI a ‘threat to India’, and the radical group had 16 fronts to camouflage its actual activities. The Governor then went on to list the various ‘masks’ of the group, starting from the rehabilitation & human rights groups to a political party.

Governor RN Ravi further said, “But essentially, its (PFI) whole aim is to destabilise the country… from within. They are the ones who have been sending their fighters to Afghanistan, Iran & Syria; they were all PFI people. He said that the extremist Islamic group is getting support from some political parties for their own politically –vested interests. “This is a threat that we need to be very careful about.”

Governor warned, “If they try to distract the government’s attention from the target…they are mistaken, they will be disappointed. The Indian Army, the Indian Security Forces are capable of dealing with them”.
Reacting to the Governor’s remark, PFI state president Mohammed Sheikh Ansari called his allegations “baseless.”

In the press conference, the PFI highlighted that the Tamil Nadu Governor was serving the same post in Nagaland earlier, and everyone knew ‘how he was’. There were several allegations against him, the group claimed. It accused him of implementing the RSS and BJP agenda. “Governor has echoed the voice of the RSS,” said Ansari. There were intense outbursts by Muslim outfits, VCK against the Governor, branding him of RSS henchman.

Posters criticising the Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi, calling him an RSS supporter, were pasted on walls in Madurai on May 12. The poster in Tamil read: we condemn strongly. recall your remarks. We vehemently condemn the Tamil Nadu Governor for making defamatory comments on the Popular Front of India. Withdraw your defamatory statement immediately, Governor. Don’t spew venom or hatred against people’s organisations in favour of the RSS. Go away, Governor RN Ravi, who is acting against the people’s interest. The union government should recall him who is acting continuously against the interest of Tamil Nadu and its people”.

The PFI, CFI, National Women’s Front (NWF), SDPI, Tamil Nadu Tawheed Jamaat and other fundamentalist organisations are active in Tamil Nadu and Kerala with government backing. While in Kerala PFI indulges in the killing spree of RSS, BJP workers but in Tamil Nadu, they impart training to its cadres and anti-national activities.

Already, there have been demands to ban PFI, another avatar of banned organisation SIMI. Now they have the temerity to blatantly question and threaten a constitutional authority through posters and media briefings.
