Gurgaon: Federation of Indian Industry (FII) – a not-for-profit organization acting as an interface between the Government and Industries and the NASSCOM Centre of Excellence (CoE), Gandhinagar-the digital India initiative of the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) and Government of Gujarat, signed an MoU to help MSMEs adopt Industry 4.0 solutions through the Udyam 4.0 Smart Manufacturing Forum.

The MoU was signed during an Industry round table event organized to guide MSME entrepreneurs on how digital solutions can help to improve productivity and efficiency in manufacturing plants. Around 25+ entrepreneurs from MSMEs looking forward to adopting the digital solutions in their factories participated.

The event was chaired by Satish Kumar, Joint Director, District MSME Center, Gurgaon. He encouraged the MSMEs to explore various policy options provided by the state government to help in technology adoption. He also talked about greater collaborations between Government, MSMEs, FII and NASSCOM CoE to discuss the challenges and possible solutions.

Speaking at the event, Mr Deepak Jain, Director General, FII, talked about the need to build an ecosystem that can help to spur innovation and provide a platform for startups to connect with manufacturing enterprises. He also encouraged MSMEs to consider digital adoption as a journey rather than a one-time activity.

Mr Raman Saluja, Chairman MSME, FII and MD of Oriental Engineering Works Pvt. Ltd., brought out the challenges MSMEs face during technology adoption. He advised the MSMEs to start small, but at the
same time, think long-term while deploying the solutions.

Mr Amit Saluja, Senior Director and Center Head, NASSCOM CoE, said, “Disparity in tech adoption has increased as large enterprises have accelerated their pace while MSMEs still face the challenges of Awareness, Accessibility and Affordability. The UDYAM 4.0 Smart Manufacturing Forum has been launched with an aim to enable MSMEs to kickstart their digital journey and become future-ready. The Forum will be a closed group of 100-150 forward-looking manufacturing enterprises working with us to build digital talent and implement low-cost and easy to deploy solutions from startups. Our focus will be on helping MSMEs enhance productivity, boost efficiency, and become globally competitive.”

The Smart Manufacturing Forum will provide support in three verticals, viz. Skill & Capability building, Handholding for Digital Journey, and Branding & Market Reach.

FII and NASSCOM CoE will continue to hold awareness sessions in different industry clusters to explain the benefits of the Smart Manufacturing Forum. MSMEs looking for guidance on technology adoption can get more details about Smart Manufacturing Forum by writing to smartmanufacturing@nasscom.inGurgaon: Federation of Indian Industry (FII) – a not-for-profit organization acting as an interface between the Government and Industries and the NASSCOM Centre of Excellence (CoE), Gandhinagar-the digital India initiative of the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) and Government of Gujarat, signed an MoU to help MSMEs adopt Industry 4.0 solutions through the Udyam 4.0 Smart Manufacturing Forum.
