In a repeat of Karauli like incident, stones were pelted at Shri Ram Shobha Yatra in Karnataka’s Mulbagal on Friday (April 8).

The miscreants also set one motorbike on fire.

Sree Seetharama Kalyanothsava and Sree Rama Maha Samrajya Pattabhisheka were planned as part of the four-day programme at Avani Kesthra in Mulbagal, starting April 7.

When the procession had reached Srinivaspura Circle, some miscreants started pelting stones at the procession. It resulted in injuries and chaos in the procession.

The BJP MP (Lok Sabha) from the Kolar constituency, S Muniswamy, was also in the procession when the stone pelting started.

In a similar incident in Rajasthan’s Karauli on April 2, Muslims had attacked a bike rally organised to celebrate Nav Samvastar, the first day of the new year under the Hindu calendar.

The Muslim mob not only pelted stones on the rally but also set on fire multiple bikes and shops. About 50 people, including four policemen, were injured and were admitted to various hospitals in the city. One Pushpendra, whose condition is very serious, was referred to Jaipur.

The procession in Karauli was organised only after the due permission from the administration, and the route was also cleared by the administration.

When the procession reached the Muslim-dominated Hatwara Bazar, it came under heavy stone-pelting. The Muslim mob set the shops of Hindus and their vehicles on fire.

Similarly, the procession in Karnataka was organised only after the due permission from the administration.

In Rajasthan, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the violence by Muslims. “PM should come forward and condemn the violence, irrespective of who’s responsible for it. Law and order should prevail. Be it Hindu or Muslim, anyone who is anti-social should be punished,” Shri Gehlot had said.
