New Delhi: The BJP is set to return to power in crucial states of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, and according to trends available, the saffron party has already crossed the halfway marks in both states.

The latest trends show the Lotus party is leading in 249 seats in the 403-member UP assembly and 39 seats in the 70-member Uttarakhand assembly, followed by Congress at only 17.

In the northeastern state of Manipur, the Election Commission data shows the BJP is leading in 17 seats, with Congress on five and JD (U) on 4. Chief Minister N Biren Singh, who deserves credit for leading the party and his government, is leading in his constituency, Heingang.

The public mandate shows they appreciate the sincerity of the saffron party regimes, both in the states and the centre.

Official trends for all 40 seats in Goa shows BJP is leading in 18, followed by Congress at 12. Three independents and Maharashtra Gamantak Party are leading in five seats. The magic mark in Goa is 21. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is leading by over 300 votes in Sanquelim.
