Shri Senkumar was speaking at a webinar “Politics of Radicalism & the Rise of Extremism in Kerala” Saturday (January 22) evening, organised by Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Research Foundation (SPMRF).

New Delhi: The unchecked growth in the Muslim population in Kerala and radicalisation is posing danger to not just Kerala but also the country, said former state Director General of Police (DGP) TP Senkumar. He further said that Kerala today is the most radicalised society in India, even worse than West Bengal.

“Kerala is most radicalised society in India, worse than West Bengal…and the unchecked growth of Muslims in Kerala is posing a danger to not just the state but also the country”, he said.

Shri Senkumar was speaking at a webinar “Politics of Radicalism & the Rise of Extremism in Kerala” Saturday (January 22) evening, organised by Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Research Foundation (SPMRF).

The Muslim population in the country post partition was about three crores which has now increased to more than 22 crores, an increase of more than seven times. In 1970s, the Muslim population in Kerala was about 18% which has now increased to almost 33%.

“When I started my career in the police service in early 1980s, there were hardly any Muslim woman in burqa but today you’ll hardly find any Muslim woman without burqa. This is how radicalisation is spreading in Kerala”, Shri Senkumar said.

As a result, there are many villages in Kerala where there is absolute zero Hindu population, he added. He further said that the aim is to increase the population and then capture the seats of power through democratic means.

“Their ultimate objective is to make India an Islamic nation”, Shri Senkumar said.

When CPM-led LDF came to power in Kerala, Shri TP Senkumar was unceremoniously removed from his post. In an order in April 2017, the Supreme Court directed the Communist government in Kerala to reinstate Shri TP Senkumar as DGP of the state.

“The removal or displacement or transfer out of an officer from a sensitive tenure post requires serious consideration and good reasons that can be tested so that the officer is not dealt with as a pawn in a game. Unfortunately, the somewhat exacting standards are absent in the present case and the appellant (Senkumar) was displaced from the post of state police chief summarily and without reasonable cause”, the Supreme Court had said.

Speaking in the same webinar, social media & IT head of BJP in Kerala Jayashankar said that the effect of Jamat-e-Islami in Kerala is massive. “Jamat-e-Islami never makes noise about its activities and silently they have penetrated very deep in Kerala society. They are low profile but very dangerous”, he said.

Radicals from Kerala have joined terrorist group ISIS. Author and Columnist Dr. Binay Kumar Singh said that Kerala is not only manufacturing terrorism, it’s also exporting terrorism.

Dr. Singh reminded the audiences that Javed Ghulam Sheikh, who was gunned down by the security forces in Gujarat in June 2004 with Ishrat Jahan. They were out to kill then Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

Javed Ghulam Sheikh was Pranesh Pillai from Kerala who had converted to Islam just a year back.

Another incident which caught the attention of the masses was the chopping of hands of Professor TJ Joseph in July 2010. The Popular Front of India (PFI) members attacked him alleging he had defamed Prophet Muhammed.

Dr. Singh said that even more shocking was the sacking of the professor from the college as it was a Christian college. He further added that now even church is talking about the nefarious designs of the radical Muslim organisations.

As reported by the Organiser in September last year, Kerala Catholic Bishop Joseph Kallarangatt had said Muslims use love-jihad and narcotic-jihad to end the non-Muslims.

“They've realised that in a nation like India, taking up weapons & destroying others isn't easy, they're using other means. Their aim is to promote their religion & end non-Muslims. They use 'love jihad' & 'narcotic jihad” ANI had quoted Pala (Kerala) Bishop Joseph Kallarangatt.

In his concluding remark in the webinar, Dr. Anirban Ganguly, director of SPMRF, said that Congress is the new fringe and nobody should forget that when Rahul Gandhi had contested from Wayanad in 2019, he had the support of all the radical Muslim organisations.
