Jammu: In its endeavours and commitment to contain the activities of Bovine smuggling within the district, Kathua Police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua R C Kotwal today foiled a Bovine smuggling attempt in the JD of Police Station Rajbagh, rescued 10 Bovines and seized the vehicle involved.
Police said a police team led by Insp. Amit Sangra SHO PS Rajbagh under the supervision of SDPO Border Sachit Mahajan during naka checking duty in its jurisdictional area noticed one vehicle(Truck)bearing Reg. No. JK02AL-5365 enrouted from Punjab towards Jammu in connection with smuggling of bovines which was being driven by unknown person who was signalled to stop for checking.On seeing Naka/Police party driver of the vehicle managed to fled away from the spot while taking the advantage of darkness and leaving behind the vehicle abandoned.
During checking of aforesaid vehicle 10 Bovines were found loaded in it illegally. Thereafter Police team was able to rescue 10 Bovines and seized the vehicle involved.By taking this cognizance case FIR No. 07/2022 U/S 188/IPC, 11PCA has been registered at Police Station Rajbagh and further investigation has been set into motion accordingly. District Police Kathua seek support from people to share information about bovine smuggling with Police for the cause.Your identity will be kept confidential.
