Anupam Ray to be India’s new Envoy to UN Conference on Disarmament

New Delhi: A 1994 batch of Indian Foreign Service officer, Anupam Ray, has been appointed as India's next Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN Conference on Disarmament, Geneva.

An official release said he is expected to take up the assignment shortly. Anupam Ray is now Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs here.

Sources said Ray had earlier served in the Embassy in Bonn and also in the High Commissions of India in Dhaka and London.
He has been in the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations in New York and as Consul General of India in Houston in the United States.
