Pope should not only apologise for the misdeeds of Christians in Bharat, he should also declare that there would be no attempt at conversion by the missionaries.

The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Friday (December 24) demanded an apology from the Pope for the misdeeds of Christians in Bharat for the last 350 years. He should also declare that missionaries would not attempt any unlawful conversion.

“Christians have persecuted, conducted genocides and mass executions for 350 years. So, when the Pope comes visiting Bharat next, he should apologize for all this and also showing respect for all religions should declare to stop horizontal religious conversions in Bharat”, Shri Alok Kumar, International Working President VHP, said.

The three-day brainstorming session of the VHP started in Gujarat’s Junagad on Friday (December 24).

The twenty-first century is the Hindu century and the VHP is turning 60 in 2024. On the occasion, it will rededicate itself to the various causes it has been working for.

Emphasising the need for eco-friendly sustainable growth, the President of Akhil Bharatiya Sadhu Samaj, Swami Muktanand Ji Maharaj said that there should be environment and eco-friendly sustainable economic development and affluence of the country. Bharat’s holistic and altruistic Kulaachaar (culture) should flourish, so that the world gets to enjoy happiness, health and blessedness.

Bharat should continue to guide the world and must progress in science, technology and engineering, he added.

“Let there be no dispute in the country – all Hindus are our own flesh and blood, kins, Rishi Santaans!” Swami ji said.

The VHP started a nationwide campaign on December 20 against unlawful conversions. The campaign aims to make people aware about the various fraudulent ways in which churches and mosques convert people.

It has also demanded the government to bring law to ensure those tribals who convert don’t get the benefits of reservation.

“When a tribal converts, he/she leaves behind and lets down all his/her indigenous deities and traditions, so he/she should not get the facilities of reservation – we will try to ensure this”, Shri Alok Kumar ji said.

The VHP was founded on August 29, 1964, on the auspicious day of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, with the blessings of the Saint shakti of Bharat. The objective of the VHP is to organise-consolidate the Hindu society and to serve – protect the Hindu Dharma.

In 2024, when it turns 60, it vows to rededicate itself to the various social causes. “The VHP works on the guidance of saints…We will proceed in the direction of working on Dharmaprasar, Dharmacharya, Math-Mandir (Monasteries-Temples), Archak-Purohits (Priests) and Dharmayatras (Pilgrimages). Through the Hitachintak campaign, 40-50,00,000 Hitachintaks (well-wishers) will be made. We will try to bring the spirit of harmony in society”, Shri Alok Kumar ji said.

Many Hindus were converted to Islam through force and fraudulent means. The VHP is going to launch a massive campaign for Ghar Wapsi.

It has drawn up plans to strengthen Durga Vahini (women’s wing) and Bajrang Dal (youth wing).
