Two days workshop by N.C.B. for N.E. police and security forces. An app titled 'Drugs Free Assam' was launched, where information about selling, storage, shipment, usage etc., of drugs in real-time can be passed on to Assam Police for immediate action. This app was dedicated to the memory of Late Gen. Bipin Rawat, India's first C.D.S. and a great son.

Guwahati: For the proximity to the golden triangle, the Northeastern state has been a victim of drug menace for a long time. Of late, the B.J.P. led governments in Manipur, Assam, Tripura, and other NEDA governments in the region are declaring war against drugs. N.E. police and security forces seized drugs worth thousands of crores in the last several months. But crock drug mafias are still trying new ways every day to transit drugs in the region. The Northeastern region is the gateway to transit drugs to other Indian states, and security forces need to act smartly to prevent the huge transportation of white powder. The Narcotics Control Bureau (N.C.B.) and Assam Police jointly organised a training workshop for police forces to tackle the challenges posed by drug rackets. The two Day Workshop cum Training for Drug Law Enforcement Agencies of Northeastern states, Central Para-Military Forces posted in the northeast and Central Agencies like D.R.I. and Customs was conducted on 10th and 11th December in Guwahati. Director-General of N.C.B. S.N. Pradhan and D.G.P. Assam police B J Mahanta inaugurated the workshop.

In the workshop, an app titled 'Drugs Free Assam' was launched, where information about selling, storage, shipment, usage etc., of drugs in real-time can be passed on to Assam Police for immediate action. This app was dedicated to the memory of Late Gen. Bipin Rawat, India's first C.D.S. and a great son. Rich tributes were paid to the C.D.S. in the event.

'Handbook for Investigating Officers of NDPS Act Cases' compiled by C.I.D., Assam police was released by the DG NCB S.N. Pradhan I.P.S. This Handbook will assist in the comprehensive investigation of NDPS Act Cases.

In the two days workshop cum training program, 40 officers participated from eight Northeastern states. The participants were introduced to topics like Dark web, T.O.R. browser, Crypto-currencies, blockchain technology, OSINT tools, Digital forensics, C.D.R. and IPDR analysis etc. These, unfortunately, are the tools of modern-day criminals, and the security forces can't afford to be found wanting in this regard.
