Amid the massive protests by Muslims regarding the Waqf Board appointment through PSC, Pinarayi Vijayan government announced it would hold meetings with the stakeholders and maintain status quo till then.

The first few days of December 2021 witnessed the adamant Islamic protests against a reasonable government order for Public Service Commission (PSC) appointments in Waqf Board and the consequent climb down by the CPM-led LDF regime thanks to their minority appeasement and vote bank politics. When all Muslim organisations launched massive protests, Pinarayi Vijayan fell into a knee jerk and immediately convened a meeting of the stakeholders and announced that the government would hold detailed discussions and status quo would be maintained until then. He added that his government does not have any stubbornness in this regard. This is the way the Communists handle minority-related issues.

Right thinking, people remember what did the very same Pinarayi do when Hindu devotees protested the government's sinister decision to facilitate young women's entry to the Sabarimala temple during late 2018 and early 2019. At last government, with the help of the police force, successfully arranged the backdoor entry of two controversial women of shady reputation to the temple during the wee hours. CM and his party colleagues showed a maximum amount of arrogance towards Hindus and celebrated that 'dirty victory'. CM even challenged the Hindus, asking if there was any plan for any Hartal.

Almost all Hindu temples, with handsome revenue from the devotees, are controlled by Dewaswom Boards. All the appointments to the Boards are through PSC. Board comprises a President and two Members. President and one member are nominated by the Hindu members of the state council of ministers and the other member from the Hindu members of the state legislature. Duration is three years. Incidentally, there is no rule that President or Member should be a 'believer'. Recently K. Radhakrishnan, Kerala minister in charge of the Dewaswom Board and CPM leader, insulted Shabarimala rituals and tradition by pouring the theertha (prasad in liquid form), offered by the priest, to the floor. In other words, atheist, anti-Hindu, Communist ministers control Hindu temples. At the same time, they keep aloof from Christian churches and Muslim mosques.

Comrades consider secularism as anti-Hinduism. Anti-Hinduism is anti-Modism and anti-RSSism. But, now, anti-Modism and anti-RSSism are turning anti-nationalism. It was evident when Supreme Court lawyer and Kerala State's counsel in Supreme Court utilised the shocking Coonoor chopper crash to insult the nation. She said, in her social media post, that CDS Gen. Bipin Rawat's elevation was extra-constitutional, and his death cannot make him a saint. But, the people of Kerala wonder what else they can expect from such a party.
