As per the data, Malappuram district has the largest number of staffs who are reluctant to take jabs including 187 teaching and 14 non-teaching staffs. 136 teaching and 15 non-teaching staffs havent taken COVID shots in Calicut district. Most of these people are citing religious reasons for avoiding vaccines, but claim that they can't take the shots citing medical reasons.

This comes at a time when Kerala is struggling to contain COVID-19 virus and the scientific community is warning of a possible third wave citing a lethal new mutant virus.

The state government has directed these staffs to undergo RTPCR tests every week and submit the reports.
