Kerala: Abdul, Basheer, Nasar and two others arrested from Calicut Airport for carrying unaccounted gold

In yet another incident of unaccounted gold being confiscated from a Kerala airport, gold worth Rs 3.71 crore was found from multiple passengers in Calicut airport. Abdul Rehman, Basheer, Nasar, George and Thomas were arrested in connection with the illegal smuggling of gold. The gold was brought from Dubai and Sharjah. The gold was found in multiple forms, especially in the form of capsules hidden inside the body.

Nithin George, who smuggled 2284 grams of gold from Dubai, kept 1170 grams inside the rectum, and the rest was hidden in his underwear while Abdul Rehman carried 676 grams of gold inside his rectum from Sharjah.

1628 grams of gold worth Rs 80 lakh was found from Basheer, while 1170 gram gold worth 84 lakh was found from Nasar.
