CM paid floral tribute to Adi Guru's statue in Kamakhya temple; Union minister Sarbananda Sonowal offered his prayer in Sivadol in Sivasagar.
Guwahati: In commemoration of the inauguration of the newly constructed "Samadhi" of Adiguru Shankaracharya, the Assam government has organised various spiritual programs in some famous religious places of the state which the Adiguru Shankaracharya once visited.
Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the Shaktipeeth Maa Kamakhya temple and offered his prayer. He also paid a rich floral tribute to the Guru Adi Shankaracharya statue situated inside the Maa Kamakhya temple. Adi Guru once visited the Maa Kamakhya temple, as it is considered one of India's prime Shaktipeeth. Assam Pradesh BJP president Bhabesh Kalita and National General Secretary of BJP MP Dilip Saikia also paid tribute to Adi Shankaracharya.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Dr. Sarma said that the Assam government will spend 100 crores of rupees on developing the tribal religious institutions of the state. Apart from the government, the CM urges people to invest their additional income in developing and conserving Indian civilisation and cultural, religious institutions.
Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal offered prayer and participated in a spiritual program organised in the Sivadol in Sivasagar district. Assam cabinet minister Jogen Mohan also offered prayers to the Adi Guru in Sivadol, who once visited the famous Shiva temple in upper Assam. In Tezpur town, cabinet minister Pijush Hazarika offered his prayers in Mahabhairav mandir. Adi Shankaracharya once visited the famous temple dedicated to Lord Shiva in the Sonitpur district of North Assam. Union MoS Rameswar Teli offered tribute to Adi Guru in Tilinga Mandir in the Tinsukia district. Adi Guru also visited this famous Shiva temple during his spiritual visit to Assam. Cabinet minister Ranjit Das visited and offered tribute to Adi Guru Shankaracharya in Tukleswari Shiva mandir in the Goalpara district of lower Assam. Adi Guru visited this famous Lord Shiva Shrine in the beautiful location of lower Assam.
