Danish and his friends threatened the only Hindy family in the locality, saying Aarati and Shankh were disturbing him.

Shanti and Raushan Pathak can not perform pooja in their house in Madanpur Khadar in Delhi's Kalindi Kunj. Because if they do pooja at home, they will face dire consequences. On October 19, Danish and his friends stormed into Shanti Pathak's house in the morning and threatened that they would face dire consequences if they did not stop aarati.

Shanti has been living in Madanpur Khadar for over two decades with her husband and three children. Her husband, Raushan Pathak, is a rickshaw puller.

On October 19, Shanti's daughter Natasha performed aarati when Danish and his friends stormed into the house. Danish also threatened that if they perform pooja in the future, the whole family will face dire consequences. This was not the first time when Danish threatened. Only his threats have got more brazen and serious over time.

Shanti said that earlier they were able to perform pooja in the house, but since the number of Muslims in the area started increasing, they started posing threats to her family.

She also filed a police complaint in the Kalindi Kunj police station, but police have registered no FIR to date. In her complaint, she said, "These people have fought with us two-three times in the past too. They have also threated to kill my elder son."

The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has assured the family of protection and full cooperation. In a series of tweets, the national spokesperson of VHP, Vinod Bansal, lamented how Hindus have been reduced to second-class citizens.

??” (Hold your breath! This news is not from Pakistan, Afghanistan or Bangladesh. It’s from Delhi. Hindus can not even perform pooja in their homes.)

He added, "Even after a written complaint by the victim family @DelhiPolice couldn't lodge an FIR? Is Jihadist's presure so high or hindu r the second class citizen..!!"
