The applicants, advocates Mahendra Pratap Singh and Rajendra Maheshwari, have claimed that the settlement reached between the two parties in 1968 was forced by the Congress party to appease Muslims and have demanded its nullification.

In an interesting development in the Mathura Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi case, advocates Mahendra Pratap Singh and Rajendra Maheshwari have filed an application in the civil court in Mathura for the nullification of the settlement reached between the temple and the mosque in 1968.

They have claimed that the settlement was forced by the Congress party to appease the Muslims.

The application claims that the settlement reached between the Shahi Idgah Mosque and the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Seva Sangh is illegal as Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Seva Sangh is not the custodian of the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi.

The real custodian of Shri Krishna's birthplace is Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Trust.

The applicants have provided proof that all the top office-bearers of the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Seva Sangh and the Shahi Idgah Mosque were high-ranking members of the Congress party.

The settlement was part of a larger conspiracy to appease the Muslims. The settlement was secretly decreed in 1973.
