Silchar: Swami Vivekanand had established the superiority of the concerns of Hindutva and its ideology in the entire world. When our country was under British rule, we lost our self-respect. Swami Vivekanand awakened the self-respect of the Indians. Swami Ji was the man who has earned respect for our age-old traditions established by the Rishi Munis and our Sanskrit language. This was said by the Pramukh Sanchalika of Rashtra Sevika Samiti Shanta Akka Ji in Silchar on Saturday. She was speaking in the "Visista Nagrik Sabha" organised by Rashtra Sevika Samiti and Swaraswati Smarak Samiti as a part of the year-long celebration of  "Azadi ki Amrit Mahotsav".

Akka Ji further said that Bhagwan Ram gave us the message of " Janani Janmabhoomi Swargadapi Gariyasi", which means Mother and Motherland is above all. The freedom, which we are celebrating today, is earned by many patriots by their supreme sacrifices.  Many people had sacrificed their lives for the independence of our country in the past.

Earlier Shanta Akka Ji inaugurated the "Visista Nagrik Sabha" by lighting the ceremonial lamp along with special guest Dr. Darshana Patwa. During the program, Dr. Smita Bhattacharjee talked about the purport of "Pathdarshini Sri Ram Katha", a book written by Seva Samiti founder Lakshmibai Kelkar. Saraswati Smarak Samiti general secretary Pratima Chakravarty informed the guests about the various works undertaken by the organisation.

The book 'Pathdarshini Sri Ram Katha" which is being translated to Bengali by the prant pracharika of Dakshin Assam Sampurna Dey was also released by Shanta Akkaji. A cover page of the e-magazine of the Swaraswati Smarak Samiti was also launched in the program.

President of Swaraswati Smarak Samiti Alka Dev presented the vote of thanks and the entire program was conducted by Prant Boudhik pramukh of Seva Samiti Mukta Chakravarty.

Rastriya Swayam Sevak senior Pracharak Sashikant Chothaiwale, Prant Sanghchalak Jyotchnamoy Chakravarty, Khetra Prachar Pramukh Sunil Mohanty, Yogendra Sinha, Suvendu Sekhar Bhattacharjee, Rajat Dev were also present in the program.

On the 75th years of independence Rashtra Sevika Samiti is organising various programs in the country as part of the "Azadi Ki Amrit Mahostsav". The "Visista Nagrik Sabha" organised with Swaraswati Smarak Samiti in Silchar is also a part of this year long celebration by the Dhakshin Assam Prant.
