The Kisan Maha panchayat was organised on Sunday (September 5) in Muzaffarnagar in western Uttar Pradesh.

In the Kisan Maha panchayat organised by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha on Sunday (September 5) in Muzaffarnagar, ‘farmer leader’ Rakesh Tikait raised the slogan “Allahu Akbar” from the stage.

The video footage shows Tikait saying both the slogans, Allahu Akbar and Har Har Mahadev, would be raised. But, actually raises only one slogan: Allahu Akbar.

The maha panchayat was organised by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha, the umbrella organisation of the farmers’ groups, to protest the three progressive farm laws passed by the Union government.

In the coming elections, the Morcha pledged to defeat ‘Modi-Yogi’ and the Bharatiya Janata Party, starting with Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

The maha panchayat called for ‘Bharat Bandh’ on September 27.

The farmers’ union had also said earlier that it would contest the assembly elections. It was a deviation from their earlier stand that the farmers’ protest was apolitical in nature and would not indulge in active politics.

But, Tikait started going to states where polls were announced to campaign against the Bharatiya Janata Party.
