The IT and Media Group of Indraprastha Adhyayan Kendra and Centre for Knowledge Sovereignty (CKS) jointly organized a National Webinar on "The IT (Information Technology) Rules 2021" September 4, 2021 (Saturday) at 4 PM online through Zoom in which a total of 241 people from different states of the country participated including many academicians, research students and other distinguished people. The main speaker of this program was Advocate-On-Record (AOR) in the Supreme Court of India, Mr. Ashwini Dubey, who recently filed a PIL in the support of the Government of India in the country’s Supreme Court in the dispute between the Government of India and Twitter. This program was presided over by Dr. Kamlesh Raghuvanshi (Assistant Professor, Ramanujan College, University of Delhi), and the audience associated with this program got the guidance of Shri Ajey Kumar (Head of North Region Intellectual Learning, RSS).

The program started with the worship of Maa Saraswati. After that, the program's keynote speaker, Advocate Ashwini Dubey, explained why India needed a new IT (Information Technology) rule. He said that big Internet companies working in India, in recent years, are working in their own arbitrary ways. While these companies failed to crack down on the fake news, hate speech etc. being spread on social media platforms (which was hurting the peace and harmony of the country and society) they, on the other hand, ignored the instructions of the Government of India. To tighten screws on this, the new IT rule was implemented by the Government of India on May 2021. Dr. Kamlesh Raghuvanshi, presiding over the same program, said that the revolution in the field of the Internet has given a new edge to indigenous startups, which need to be strengthened further so that the arbitrariness of foreign companies can be challenged. Mr. Ajey Kumar of RSS, who was guiding everyone in this program, call upon the countrymen using the internet to become responsible Internet users and they shouldn’t work in any way that could harm the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the country.

Shri Vinod Sharma "Vivek" (Head, Indraprastha Adhyayan Kendra), Dr. Deepa Prakash (Director, Centre for Knowledge Sovereignty), Shri Vinit Goenka (Secretary, Centre for Knowledge Sovereignty) and all respected members of Indraprastha Adhyayan Kendra as well as that of CKS were present in this program. This webinar was hosted by Mr. Abhay Pratap and Ms. Anushka while Journalist Meena Trivedi (MCD News) gave the thanksgiving note to everyone. The program ended with the Kalyan Mantra.
