Biplab Kumar Dev criticized TMC as a party of cow smugglers and accused the party of involving in anti-social activities in West Bengal.

Agartala: Without naming the Mamata Banerjee led TMC, Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Dev criticised TMC by calling it a party of criminals. Taking to social media after a big joining program in Bodjola constituency in Tripura, Biplab Dev said, " Now it seems that a political party has come from West Bengal to our state. The leaders of this party in West Bengal are involved in anti-social activities like cow smuggling. The leaders they are pulling into their party here in Tripura are also involved in such types of anti-social activities. We have enough evidence against those people and we will arrest them on the basis of these proofs."

He further asked the party workers to go to the households of CPM workers and show them the development works done by the BJP government. "They must understand what the left government has done in 25 years and what we have done in three and a half years."He added.

It should be mentioned that Mamata Banerjee led Trinamool Congress has stirred up their political activities in Tripura. TMC is trying to rope a few left leaders from the state to strengthen its grassroots base. Former Congress leader Sushmita Dev, who joined TMC recently, is now trying to build a base for the party in Tripura. But state BJP claims it will have little impact on state politics as TMC has zero grassroot base in the state. Tripura will go to the polls in 2023.
