Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya participated in G-20 Health Ministers Meeting 2021 hosted by the Italian Presidency on the theme–People, Planet and Prosperity. During the meeting yesterday (September 5), he shared India’s response in monitoring the Global Health Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic with a detailed assessment of its consequences in implementing Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs.
Mr Mandaviya is on a four-day visit to Rome in Italy from the 4th of this month to attend G- 20 Health Ministers’ meeting. In a tweet, Mr Mandaviya also said that he had an excellent discussion with the Minister of Health for Brazil Marcelo Queiroga for better cooperation in healthcare. They also talked about One Health and the introduction of Nano-Urea for better results.
During the interaction, Mr Mandaviya offered India’s full support to aid Brazil’s fight against TB.
In another tweet, the Union Health Minister said that he also interacted with UK Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Sajid Javid and highlighted various areas of cooperation in healthcare. He said our discussions included ways to promote digital health and enhancing access to new models of telemedicine.
Mr Mandaviya said that he invited the UK Health Minister to visit India and discussed a roadmap for a new health dialogue between the two countries. He added UK appreciated India’s management of COVID and congratulated on administering the first COVID-19 vaccine dose to more than half the population of the country.
