BJP ruled panchayats, Pandanadu and Kodamthuruthu in the Alappuzha district completed the first dose of vaccines to all adult populations of above 18.

COVID-19 vaccine distribution in Kerala has been under severe criticism because of the CPM party members getting preference and the common people unable to book vaccine slots, but two of the Gram Panchayats ruled by BJP in Kerala have shown an example of an effective vaccination drive covering all the adult population irrespective of their political leanings. Pandanadu and Kodamthuruthu panchayats in the Alappuzha district have completed the milestone of giving the first dose of vaccines to all adult populations above the age of 18.

Pandanadu gram panchayat president Asha V Nair congratulated all the stakeholders in the vaccination drive for their effective participation.

Kodamthuruthu gram panchayat president Bineesh Illikkal said that 23,000 doses were inoculated from two vaccination centres in the panchayat.

Kerala has been reporting more than 25,000 COVID-19 cases per day and is contributing around 70% of the total COVID-19 cases in India.
