Some clashes had broken out between the protesting farmers and the Haryana police. The police had to resort to lathi-charge to control the unruly mob.
The official handle of the Congress party shared an old image of a brutalised Gau Rakshak as an image of a farmer who was beaten by the Haryana police. Islamist Imran Pratapgarhi, a close aide of Rahul Gandhi, shared the fake image and did not delete it even after it was pointed out that it was a fake image.
State units of Congress and Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala also shared the fake image.
