Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose established the first Azad Hind Administered Village in Naga hills in Ruzasho village.

Guwahati: Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and INA's connection with Naga people may be a forgotten history of India's freedom struggle. How the Naga freedom fighters contributed to the freedom struggle and Netaji is never discussed in modern Indian history books.

But the fact is that Netaji Subhash established the first Azad Hind Administered Village in Naga hills in Ruzasho village. It was the topic of the recently organised lecture series by Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Samiti, Assam. Dr. Vekho Swuro, whose father was a trusted companion of Netaji and who worked as a translator to Netaji, revealed many facts about the topic.

Dr. Swuro started his speech referring to Shahnawaz Hussain's book 'INA Memories', which was written extensively about Netaji's journey through Myanmar and Imphal to Kohima. His father, Shri Poswuyi Swuro, was one of the INA soldiers as a translator (dobashi). He also narrated the significance of Ruzashomi's contribution towards INA's battle of Kohima.

Later, Mr. Vijay Patel informed everyone regarding the yatra plan through INA route Guwahati to Dimapur, Kohima, Manipur etc., on the celebration of Azad Hind Sarkar Diwas on 21st October 2021. Further, Mr. Subhash Lather, Director, Ministry of Culture, announced various schemes to conduct seminars on Netaji and INA as offered by the Ministry of Culture.

General Secretary BISS Assam Dr. Subhajit Choudhury thanked all the guests, speakers and academicians like Prof. O Ranjit Singh, Prof. Sunil Khijwania, IIT, Guwahati, Dr. Swuro and his family from Nagaland who joined this Byakhanmala. BISS Assam conducted its 6th Lecture on 28th August 2021 for its year-long lecture series (Byakhyanmala on Gaurav shali itihas of Bharat) on An Untold Itihas of Indian Freedom Struggle: Nagaland and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose by Dr. Vekho Swuro. Dr. Ankita Dutta narrated a brief bio data of Dr. Vekho Swuro.
