Chhattisgarh: Two ITBP security personnel martyred in a Naxal attack in Narayanpur district

In Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh, at 12:00 noon on Friday, a group of Naxalites attacked the ITBP personnel who were out on the area domination exercise. Two ITBP security personnel including an Assistant Commandant have been martyred in this attack.

 

According to preliminary information, the personnel of the 45th Battalion of ITBP were patrolling just 500 meters from the Kademeta camp of ITBP on Friday afternoon when suddenly a contingent of Naxalites attacked them. In this sudden attack, Assistant Commandant Sudhakar Shinde and Assistant Sub Inspector Gurmukh Singh martyred on the spot in the firing. Both of them were posted in the 45th Battalion of ITBP.

 

After the attack, the Naxalites, resorting to covering fire, robbed an AK-47 rifle, two bullet proof jackets and a wireless set of security personnel and fled from the spot.

 

Confirming the incident, Bastar IG P Sundarraj said that two of our jawans have been martyred in an encounter with Naxalites near kadmeta Camp of 45th Battalion of ITBP under Chhotedongar Police Station. Reinforcement has been
