India Always Stands By Us; Its Contribution Can Never Be Ignored by the Next Generation, Says Afghan Minister

The Taliban is rapidly advancing in Afghanistan, and some estimates suggest Kabul may fall in less than a month, in the last 20 years, India has made considerable investments in Afghanistan to develop the local economy.

Amid the Taliban onslaught, the Afghan Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development Hayatullah Hayat said India has always stood by Afghanistan. The next generation cannot ignore its contributions.

 

“India proved its friendship with Afghan people throughout history. India always helped the Afghan people in difficult times, in recent Salma Dame, a great building for Afghanistan parliament, hundreds of small and medium projects including schools and clinics funded by the Indian people and the government through the foreign ministry’s fund will not be ignored by the next generation and it will show that this country always stands with us”, the minister said in an interview to IANS.

 

The Taliban has captured 13 of the 34 provinces of Afghanistan and is rapidly moving towards Kabul.

 

The United States has sent additional 3000 troops for the evacuation of its embassy staff. The UK and Canada are also sending additional troops to Afghanistan for the evacuation of its embassy staff.
