Maoists have brutally murdered a farmer just 60 km from the capital of Chhattisgarh.
According to eyewitnesses, was 10-15 armed Maoists abducted Keshav Sori from his house at night in Chandanbahra village of Dhamtari district. The Maoists dragged him to Mahavir Chowk, where they brutally killed Sori by slitting his throat with a sharp weapon. Later the Maoists dumped his body near Mahaveer Chowk in Chandanbahra village.
The cold-blooded murder that took place so close to the capital has created an atmosphere of fear among the people around. Dhamtari's SP Prafful Kumar said that the investigation of the matter is going on, and a search operation is being conducted in the area. In a similar incident last month, Maoists had killed a villager Sitaram Netam in the Aamjhar village of the dhamtari district on suspicion of being an informer.
According to the villagers, when Keshar Sori's elder brother Kesnath Sori and other relatives started searching for him the following day, his body was found on the stage at Mahavir Chowk, where his torso was chopped off. It is noteworthy that most of the villages under the Nagari block of Dhamtari districts are sensitive or susceptible to Maoist activities. In these villages, the terror of Maoists has remained for the last several decades.
The terror of Maoists remains constant in the forests and surrounding areas of Sandbahra, Mandagiri, Khallari, Risgaon, Chameda, Matiabahara, Khudoorpani, Chandanbahra, Borai, Kharka, Ghutkel, Goregaon race, Thenahi, Belerbahra, Aambahar, Joratarai, Baniyadih, Likhma, Budra, and Mechka village under Nagari block of Dhamtari district.
However, the irony is that despite all the data and reports coming out, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, instead of working against the Maoists on a war footing, is busy working out the party's disputes.
