At a time when various state governments are beginning the procedure to make laws to control the growing population, the Palai Diocese in Kerala has come out with a post on FB ‘inspiring’ the community members to deliver more children. Currently, the Christian population in Kerala is around 19%.
Palai Diocese will be providing Rs 1,500 financial aid for families who have ‘delivered’ more than 5 children. The post also says that from the fourth child onwards, they will be admitted to Palai St Joseph College of Engineering and technology with scholarships. Also, hospital charges won’t be collected from the 4th pregnancy and it will be done free at Palai Mar Sleeva Medicity.
This Facebook post has triggered massive controversy in Kerala with netizens poking fun of Palai Diocese for their call to produce more babies.
