Ghaziabad Police Declines Twitter India MD Proposal for Virtual Meeting, Asks Him To Be Present for Investigation in the Ghaziabad Case

Twitter India MD Manish Maheshwari had proposed a virtual meeting for investigation in a viral fake video in Ghaziabad thrashing case.

 

The Ghaziabad police on June 21 declined Twitter India MD Manish Maheshwari’s proposal for a virtual meeting for investigation in the Ghaziabad thrashing case.

 

The police asked him to be present on June 24 for the investigation. The police also warned him that not doing so would amount to your unwillingness to cooperate in the investigation and further legal action would be taken against you.

 

The Resident Grievance Officer Dharmendra Chatur has also been asked to join the probe.

 

A fake and manipulated video was circulated in the Ghaziabad thrashing case claiming Abdul Samad Saifi was thrashed for not chanting Jai Shri Ram. Even after the Ghaziabad police clarified that the video was manipulated and fake, Twitter did not take any action.

 

The police had lodged an FIR against nine people, including Twitter, under various sections of the IPC.

 

In the notice sent on June 21, the police have categorically stated that Twitter is not cooperating with the investigation.
