VHP has called upon the countrymen to come forward to help, support and rehabilitate the violence-affected Hindu society in Bengal. VHP’s Central Secretary-General, Milind Parande said that more than 11 thousand Hindus have been rendered homeless and over 40,000 affected in the attacks that started with the announcement of the results of the Bengal Assembly elections. 142 women were subjected to inhuman atrocities and the modesty of many women outraged. Over 5,000 houses were demolished. At 7 places, either Hindu Bastis (clusters/settlements) were bulldozed and mosques erected overnight in its place or the Ghazwa-e-Hind Jihadis took possession of the land. Over 200 houses were bulldozed in the Sundarbans alone. Our Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes brethren were the specially chosen targets of the aggressors. 26 people have been killed, most of whom belonged to the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes communities. There were 1627 incidents of attacks on Bastis. More than two thousand Hindus have been forced to become IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons) and take refuge in Assam, Odisha and Jharkhand.

He also released the details of two bank accounts, calling upon the country to extend wholehearted and open-handed support to the violence-stricken brothers and sisters of Bengal. He said that direct contributions through NEFT could be made through the Bank A/c No.: 04072010017250 of Vishva Hindu Parishad, New Delhi or the Bank A/c No.: 04072010019960 of Bharat Kalyan Pratisthan, New Delhi. Contributions can also be made through Bank Cheques. In any case, the contributor should e-mail his/her name, address, telephone number, transaction reference number to [email protected] to thank them with a receipt of the same.

He said that this terrible violence is reminiscent of the violent carnage of the partition of Bharat in 1947. The horrors of the situation can be gauged from the fact that His Excellency the Governor of West Bengal, while listening to the sufferings of the victims, also had to say in a choked voice that the people of my state are forced to convert to live. He even went so far as to say that Bengal had become a volcano for Hindus. Several statutory bodies like the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC), the National Commission for Women (NCW) and the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) have also demanded to curb the atrocities being committed in the state.

He called upon the whole country to stand with the Hindu society of the bordering state of West Bengal who have been struggling to protect our Desh-Dharm, and we must be ready to help them. Arrangements of homes for homeless Hindus, rebuilding and resettling their plundered houses, giving life and living to orphaned children, healing of the injured, fighting false cases lodged against Hindus, helping victims restart their businesses, rebuilding broken temples, help to dependents of martyred Hindus, building up the power of deterrence and formidability of the Hindu society, etc. – there are many such tasks which have to be done in this state for Hindus who have suffered disaster. These violence-victim Hindus have also been battling the Corona pandemic. We all citizens are engaged all over the country in serving the corona victims even risking our lives; we also have to save Bengal from these disasters.
