The Uttar Pradesh government under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched a massive drive to trace the Covid-19 virus in the rural areas of Uttar Pradesh.
A team of 141610 health professionals will conduct door-to-door drive to track the active cases.
Not only this, the government will track all the contacts of the active cases and every needed medical help will be provided.
A team of 21242 medical supervisors will keep a track on the process.
The WHO lauded the government’s effort to take the initiative on such a large scale to check the spread of the virus.
A total of 97941 villages will be covered. The state has a population of about 25 crores.
The Adityanath government had floated a global tender on May 7 to procure 4 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine. It became the first Indian state to float a global tender to procure the vaccines to quickly vaccinate its population.
When the Union government had opened up the vaccination process for the 18-44 age bracket, it was the first state to place an order with the Indian vaccine manufacturers Serum Institute and Bharat Biotech.
