Inculcating National Values Through Art: Dr Mohan Bhagwat at
the Kala Sankul of Sanskar Bharti in New Delhi recently

New Delhi: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat, on April 2, 2021, inaugurated Kala Sankul, the new headquarters of Sanskar Bharti at Deendayal Upadhyay Marg in New Delhi.

At the event, Dr Bhagwat said that Indian arts are not merely a medium of entertainment but also an expression of humanity’s divinity. The West has chosen to entertain only through the arts, so their art is incomplete. The westerners are wandering here and there in search of happiness. They are looking towards India for happiness because India goes to the root from which happiness is born. It is the goal of all of us to build a capable society through such rich arts, he added.

The programme was presided over by veteran Hindi film actor Paresh Rawal and president of the National School of Drama. Baba Shri Yogendraji, the patron of Sanskar Bharti, was also present on the occasion.

Art Brings Peace

Dr Bhagwat acknowledged the contribution of Indian art in becalming the mind. “By the way, whatever circles of life have emerged from Indian origin, they fulfil all these things. If you want to see Shiva in truth, then it is necessary to have compassion in it. Art is an expression of that sensation. It is our national duty to protect this flow of art”. He hoped that through Kala Sankul, concerted efforts will be made to promote and conserve all arts.

At the beginning of the programme, Dr Bhagwat and Sarkaryavah Shri Dattatreya Hosabale inaugurated the Kala Sankul by lighting the lamp. The Sarsanghachalak’s handmarks were taken, which Sanskar Bharti will preserve in the Kala Sankul. Cultural artists Malini Awasthi, Anoop Jalota, Anwar Aali Khan, Sugandha Sharma, Wasifuddin Dagar, Pandit Dharmanath Mishra and Pandit Ramkumar Mishra presented extremely adorable ‘ragadesh’ on the occasion.

Preserving Handmark for Posterity

The event was followed by the screening of a brief documentary based on Sanskar Bharti’s four-decade journey, Imagination of Kala Sangam.

In his address, Padmashri Baba Yogendra Ji, the mentor of Sanskar Bharati, said that connecting and giving direction to the society through artists will be done through ‘Kala Sankul’. “We aim to create an atmosphere of peace, joy, hard work and devotion in the country, he said. He expressed confidence that Kala Sankul will encourage art seekers and eventually pave the way for nation-building.

Vasudev Kamat, the national president of Sanskar Bharti, connected online. He said that Sanskar Bharti did not have any central office for all these years. In such a situation, where the workers and art seekers converged, the place became the office. “Luckily, after several years, our office, Kala Sankul, is being inaugurated in the Capital of the country. Art creation through art packages, the spread of art ideas, the spread of Sanskar Bharti will spread like Saraswati throughout the country to the general public. Our aim is that through arts, the national values can be inculcated and in people’s minds. ”

In the video message, Shri Paresh Rawal said: “My heart is filled with joy at the inauguration of Sanskar Bharati’s central office in Delhi. This is an important undertaking in the field of art and culture. When the centre is fixed, the circumference expands. The spread of Sanskar is always done through the use of communication mediums. All communication mediums should become the medium of Sanskar propagation; this is the purpose of Sanskar Bharati. I am confident that due to the central office, there will be focused efforts in this direction.”

Former Sarkaryavah Bhayyaji Joshi, Sah-Sarkaryavah Dr Manmohan Vaidya, Shri Arun Kumar, Akhil Bharatiya Sampark Pramukh Shri Ramlal, Shri Indresh Kumar, Pragya Pravah National Convenor Shri J Nandakumar, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar, Union Minister of State for Youth and Sports Kiran Rijiju, Rajya Sabha member Dr Sonal Mansingh, folklorist Teejanbai, including several eminent personalities from various walks of life were also present in this important function. In the programme, Sanskar Bharti’s General Minister Amir Chand, Organization Minister Abhijit Gokhale, Vice President Hemlata S. Mohan, programme coordinator Anupam Bhatnagar and Bhupendra Kaushik were also present at the event.

Kala Sankul located in the heart of the Capital, is basically a campus dedicated to art and cultural activities. It covers many genres, including arts, literature and theatre that will be combined and promoted. A rich library, art gallery, auditorium, studio and conference room are also available in this building. It is going to develop into a big centre of art and culture in the coming days.
