For nine decades, RSS has been serving Bharat selflessly ? UP CM Yogi Adityanath

Lucknow: “The RSS vision has been to work for the last person in society, and I’ve seen swayamsevaks working round-the-clock in the most difficult terrains to help the needy,” said Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow, recently. Since its inception in 1925, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has been working selflessly and tirelessly for the Bharatiya vision, said Adityanath. The Chief Minister released on occasion the book, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh: Swarnim Bharat ke Disha Sutra by Shri Sunil Ambekar, the Akhil Bharatiya Sah Prachar Pramukh of RSS.

Shri Dattatreya Hosabale, the Sah Sarkaryavah of RSS, Dr Krishna Gopal, the Sah Sar Karyavah, and Shri Sunil Ambekar graced the occasion. Narrating his personal experience, the Chief Minister said because of heavy snowfall, he once got stuck in Kedarnath. He was curious to know what the people during medical emergencies need in such circumstances.

Upon inquiry, he got to know that RSS was running a hospital in the area. Countering the negative narrative set by some vested interests, Shri Ambekar said, “The aim of the RSS is not to control the society but to empower it. But some people keep spreading lies that once Sangh grows, it’ll control the society.” Shri Dattatreya Hosabale told the gathering that a number of people are presenting expert opinions about the RSS without even realising that RSS has increased its membership in the last few years.

“We have noticed that people have started spreading misconceptions about the Sangh in the last few years. To know the RSS, people need to join Shakhas,” he said. There has been a lot of fear-mongering happening about the concept of Hindu Rashtra. It is all being done by the people who don’t understand the concept of Hindu Rashtra, he explained. He added, “Hindu Rashtra is not a theological concept. Hindutva is not Hindu religion. As Savarkar ji said, Hindu religion is just a part of Hindutva.” He lamented that the intellectual circus had done more harm to the country in the last few years. “All the people living in the country have one DNA, and that DNA is Hindu. It’s not about just Hindu religion,” he explained. English playwright William Shakespeare had said “What’s there in a name.” Countering this age-old adage, Shri Datttatreya Hosabale said ‘Name’ does signify a history, a culture, an emotion, and understanding. And it’s the reason why Allahabad’s name was changed to Prayagraj. The work of the RSS can’t be summarised in a book. But it’s an attempt to spread the right information about the ideology and work of the Sangh, he said.

Shri Ambekar said, “In my travels in the country and abroad, I realised people are interested in the work the Sangh is doing and they want to contribute. But there are many misconceptions too about the RSS. This book is just an attempt to fill the gap.”
