The fund collection drive for the construction of a grand temple of Bhagwan Shri Ram in Ayodhya unified Bharatvarsh, said Central Vice President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and General Secretary of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Shri Champat Rai Saturday.

The money collected so far has crossed INR 2500 crore.

Samarpan Abhiyan (fund collection drive) started on January 15 and concluded on February 27.

More than 900000 volunteers visited about 400000 villages to collect the funds. Door to door campaigning happened in nearly all the cities and towns of the country.

Although the collection drive has come to an end, the Ram Bhakts can contribute through the links provided on the trusts’ website.

Shri Rai said, “The Samarpan of the Rambhakt Muslim society is also significant.” He also said the foundation filling work is expected to start in the first week of April.

The volunteers contacted more than 10 crore families in one and a half months.

The initial target of the drive was INR 1200 crores which were achieved in a few days after the launch of the drive.
The trust has also decided to purchase some additional land to add to the premises of the temple.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had performed Bhoomi pooja on August 5 last year.
