Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and Senior Congress Leader Kamal Nath welcomed the Hindu Mahasabha leader Babulal Chaurasiya in the party Wednesday.

Chaurasia has been a Hindu Mahasabha leader for a long and had built a temple of Nathuram Godse in Madhya Pradesh.
In 2017, Chaurasiya had converted the Hindu Mahasabha’s office into a temple for Godse and tried to install an idol. After the controversy broke out, the police had seized the idol and closed the premises.

The Hindu Mahasabha leader again revived the demand in 2019. He also took an oath to spread the message of Nathuram Godse to more than a lakh people.

It’s surprising considering the Congress party has been criticising the Bharatiya Janata Party as a party of ‘Godse worshippers’.

At the peak of the campaign for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP leader and now Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) Sadhvi Pragya Thakur had talked about the rights of people who believe in the ideology of Nathuram Godse. The Congress party created a huge uproar over it.

Recently, Kamal Nath had criticised the Shivraj Singh Chauhan government of Madhya Pradesh for naming an alleged library after Nathuram Godse.
