Arunachal Vikas Parishad (AVP) is a Social Organisation working for Arunachal Pradesh’s people’s all-around development. AVP organises various types of programmes to promote the Indigenous faith, culture, tradition, languages as well as the feelings of national integration and patriotism among the young generation.

On the eve of 72nd Republic Day, Arunachal Vikas Parishad has organised a very inspiring programme “Seemant Darshan Yatra-2021” to visit the border villages, situated in Arunachal Pradesh which share an international border with Myanmar, Bhutan and China occupied Tibet to meet the brothers and sisters of a remote area with the feeling of affinity.

Seemant Darshan Yatra was organised by Arunachal Vikas Parishad (AVP) from January 23 to 26, 2021 emphasising on the exchange the emotions and sentiments of oneness with the inhabitants of India and Tibet (China), Bhutan and Myanmar, comprehend the pivotal pre-eminence of Indigenous faith and culture in the daily life of the residents of these areas of Arunachal Pradesh and assertions of Chinese intrusion of Indian Territory.

The Yatra covered 111 villages of 25 administrative circles of 12 districts of Arunachal Pradesh. The delegates of the Yatra conversed with 17 tribes residing on the border areas and visited 35 personal security camps (Army, ITBP, SSB. Assam Rifles etc.). On the occasion of Republic Day, they hoisted the National Flag in 41 border villages.

Observation

  • The spirit of Indianness is thoroughly seen in the villages on the border area. The villages identify themselves with India very strongly.
  • The people take an active part in the state as well as a national election.
  • The villages have good relations with the armed forces, Army as well as ITBP, SSB etc. SSB has constructed a Local Prayer centre in samdrung village in West Kameng District. Youths from the villages accompany the patrolling units of ITBP as porters and guides. The youths also act as informers of the forces.
  • The villagers are aware and concerned about Chinese aggression but without fear of war. When they go by porter up the borders, they can trace the Chinese intrusion in our territory. In Taksin Upper Subansiri, One Villager Shri Takia, PI. The Chinese army PLA has made about 100 houses in Mibachu in the Maja area from 2018 to 2020. The Chinese intrusion also took place in Sila-2, Sila-3, Sila-4, Sila top and asapila area in 2018. In Ojomada 4 Km from Taksin, town PLA comes every week and marks its presence in red ink. The roads that China has built up to border areas make them anxious about Chinese intentions.
The Yatra was flagged off by Deputy Chief Minister Shri Chowna Mein, Youth and Sports, Forest and Environment Minister Shri Mama Natung and Director General of Police Shri RP Upadhyay, IPS at Nyeder Namlo, Itanagar. Shri Tai Tagak, Advisor to Chief Minister and Shri Kumsi Sidisow MLA, were also present in the function.

It concluded on January 29 with the experience sharing and report submission in Itanagar AVP office. Shri Techi Gubin President, AVP and other 30 Seemant Yatri participated in the experience-sharing programme. Many other delegates have sent their written report and observation to AVP.
