In a horrific incident which happened in Kerala, a 3-month-pregnant lady Shahida killed her 6-year-old son by cutting the throat in the bathroom of their house. Shahida told police that she had an inner call from ‘Allah’ to sacrifice her son. The incident happened at 4 ‘o’clock in the morning when her husband Sulaiman, a lorry driver, was asleep.

After committing the murder, Shahida went to her neighbour’s house and informed about the killing to the police from their phone. Only when the police came home, her husband, who was asleep in the adjacent room, came to know on the mishap. The police found that the boy’s legs were tied before slitting his throat. She has been booked under section 302 (Punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code

This brutal incident has sent shock waves all across Kerala. Her neighbours informed the police that they were unaware of Shahida having any mental illness. She is currently in police custody at Palakkad South police station. The Shahida-Sulaiman couple has 3 children. Police have begun inquest procedures.
