Uttarakhand: Police to record the profiles posting ?anti-national, anti-social? contents, will use during passport, arms licence verification

The Uttarakhand Police has said that it will maintain records of persons who post ‘anti-national and anti-social posts’ on social media and the same will be mentioned while verifying passport and arms licenses.
Director-General of Police (Law and Order) Dehradun Ashok Kumar said, “Records of persons who post anti-national and anti-social posts will be kept on social media and in future, those will also be mentioned in verification proceedings on request of passport and arms licenses.”
On Monday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that five police lines in the state will be made “hi-tech” and a new police headquarters will also be established. He was attending a two-day police officers conference.
Among other announcements, the CM said a policy will be made against drugs and the police will get a helicopter for emergency services. He said the police were doing good work and efforts are being made to improve facilities for them.
