Ram Janmabhoom temple trust has launched a nationwide month-long donation campaign to build the ambitious Ram Mandir at Ayodhya at an estimated cost of Rs 1,100 crores which include over Rs.300 crore to build the main structure of the Mandir. Bhoomi puja was conducted in last August and Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone in the presence of sadhus and seers from all over Bharat. Ram Janmabhoom Tirath Kshetra Nyaas has been involved in this massive drive. During the donation drive coupons in various denominations ranging from Rs. 10, 50,100,1000 are used. There is no minimum or maximum limit to donate. President Ramnath Kovind led the nation to drive with a donation of Rs. 5 lakhs followed by Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu Rs 5 Lakh, Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar and his wife Rs.5,00,001, Telangana Governor Tamil Isai Soundarajan Rs. 1 lakh, TN Governor Banwarilal Puroit Rs. 5,00,011 and others.

On behalf of the Kanchipuram Sankara Mutt, TN Governor Banwarilal Purohit has handed over contributions made by devotees to Treasurer of the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Theerth Kshetra Trust Swami Govind Dev Giri Purohit on 1st February. Presiding over the function organized by the Kanchi Mutt. Governor Banwarilal Purohit while addressing the gathering said that the ancient Sri Kamakshi Amman temple and the Sankara mutt have a divine and historical link with Ayodhya. He said the Sankara Mutt seers have been closely associated with efforts for a Temple for Lord Ram at his birthplace in Ayodhya. Purohit recalled the role played by various Kanchi Sankaracharyas for materializing the Ram Temple movement till the present seer Vijayendra Saraswathgal. It is to be remembered that in 1986 the then pontiff Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi, his successor Jayendra Saraswathi dedicated a beautiful silk ceremonial umbrella (Chatram) and two samaras ( silver-handled fan with hairs from Himalayan Yak ) from Kanchipuram to Ayodhya. Jayendra Saraswathi made efforts to bring all litigants on the Ram Janma Bhoomi issue to negotiating table to find an amicable solution to the vexatious issue.

TN Governor said the present Pointiff Sri Vijayendra Saraswathi has given a call to all devotees to donate liberally and contribute to the fund for the construction of Ram mandir. For that purpose, a big offertory (collection box)was placed in front of the mutt. Devotees, merchants, businessmen and others have dropped their donations. Surprisingly, Thanjavur based businessman and a Mutt devotee, M.V.J Mohan has donated Rs.5 crore through cheque. The entire collections of Rs. 6 crores have been handed over to Swami Govind Dev Giri Swamigal. Despite pandemic woes, people in Bharat have been contributing to the Ram Mandir trust.

Kanchi mutt sent gold coins, holy soil collected from the Kamakshi Amman temple, a specially made ‘Tamara Patra’ ( Copper sheet) to be put into the altar of the temple base along with the silver bricks for Ram Mandir groundbreaking ceremony in Ayodya on 5th August last year.

Udupi Pejawar Mutt head Swami Vishwa Prasanna Teertha and Govind Giri and others spoke on the occasion. The speakers were confident that soon the consecration of Ram mandir would be held.
