BJP model of women empowerment in Kerala: Party elects Susheela Santhosh as chairperson, U Ramya as vice-chairperson in Pandalam

In a move that shows BJP’s commitment towards women empowerment, the has elected Susheela Santosh as the Chairperson and U Remya as the vice-Chairperson of the Pandalam Municipality. BJP had wrestled Pandalam municipality from the left alliance in the recently concluded Kerala local body election. Pandalam was the place where Sabarimala agitation was first initiated.
BJP won 18 out of 33 seats in the Pandalam Municipality and 14 among there are women. This is the second municipality that BJP has won in Kerala other than retaining the Palakkad municipality. Appreciating Kerala BJP’s decision to a senior BJP leader Shobha Karandlje tweeted “The kind of #WomenEmpowerment India wants! Susheela Santhosh is the new Chairperson of Pandalam Municipality. Chairperson position here is not reserved for woman, yet @BJP4Keralam chose women to lead Pandalam from the front. She is also the District Vice President of BJP.”
