Delhi police on Monday has arrested five terrorists including two Khalistanis in connection averting a major terror plot. Three of the terrorists hail from Kashmir and two of them were identified as Mohammad Ayub and Shabbir. Incriminating materials and weapons were recovered from these terrorists. Delhi police have informed ANI that these terrorists were backed by ISI for unleashing narco-terrorism in India.

DCP Special Cell Pramod Kushwaha said “Five persons apprehended following an exchange of fire in Shakarpur area of Delhi. Two of them are from Punjab, three are from Kashmir. Weapons and other incriminating materials recovered.” According to Times of India journalist Raj Shekhar Jha, two Khalistanis arrested have been identified as Gurjeet Singh and Sukhdeep Singh.

Police have found that these terrorists were responsible for the assassination of Shaurya Chakra awardee Balwinder Singh in Punjab. In October 2020, Balwinder Singh was shot dead by two motorcycle-borne assailants. He was awarded the Shaurya Chakra for his exemplary courage.

There are reports of these terrorists trying similar plots in Delhi.
