Navy veteran brutally attacked by Shiv Sena goons for sharing a cartoon of Uddhav Thackeray on Whatsapp

An Ex-Navy officer was attacked by Shiv Sena goons in Maharashtra on Friday for sharing a cartoon of Uddhav Thackeray on WhatsApp. The Maharashtra police registered an FIR based on a complaint. Two Shiv Sena top leaders have been arrested in connection with the incident.
 
CCTV footage of the incident also went viral on social media where in the veteran could be seen being attacked by goons of Shiv Sena. The victim has been identified as Madan Sharma.
 
 
The daughter of the navy Veteran said, “My father received a call. He had forwarded a message to his group. Following this, he received 10-15 threat calls. Then, they called my father out at around 12 to talk. When my father went to meet them, they attacked him without talking to him. I had apprehensions that they would do something to my father because is he from the Shiv Sena.”
 
“I saw in the CCTV on the manner in which they beat my father. They said that he is from RSS and BJP and so, he should be beaten up. One hour later, the police came to arrest him. The police said that we will have to take your father away,” she added
 
BJP MLA Atul Bhatkalkar said that Madan Sharma, who lives in Thakur Complex in his assembly constituency, was attacked by Shiv Sena and tried to kill him. Madan Sharma has a serious injury to his eye. He has also suffered a lot on his stomach and back. MLA Atul Bhatkalkar said “The ruling Shiv Sena, which sabotaged kangana Ranaut’s office, has now seriously injured the eye of an elderly former naval officer, Madan Sharma, by beating him up. The chief minister is running a dictatorship.”

Condemning the brutal attack, Former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis urged the Shiv Sena and Uddhav Thackeray to stop Gunda Raj. “Extremely sad & shocking incident. Retired Naval Officer got beaten up by goons because of just a Whatsapp forward. Please stop this gundaRaj Uddhav Thackeray ji. We demand strong action and punishment to these goons,” he tweeted.

Actress Kangana Ranaut whose office was demolished by BMC on Wednesday, September 11 also tweeted a video on the same and said: “Terror and Cruelty of the Shiv Sena government in Maharashtra are increasing day by day, today a bunch of Shiv Sena goons beats an Ex-Navy officer, his fault is that he condemns the acts by the Maharashtra government”.
