Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh celebrates Guru Poornima festival in Denmark

Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh HSS Denmark celebrated Guru Poornima festival in traditional way on September 5. Its highlight was the program Guruvandana – Teachers Appreciation ceremony where selected teachers from Danish schools were invited and honoured for their role in shaping children’s future.
India’s ambassador to Denmark, Shri Ajit Gupte graced the occasion as chief guest. Mr. Gupte gave a nice speech on importance of Guru and Guru Poornima festival and presented mementoes to teachers as well as Hindi language teaching volunteers of HSS.
HSS-DK honoured six Danish teachers from two Danish schools. Mr. Poul Boje, Mr. Simon Dalhøj, Ms. Sine Gasbjerg and Ms. Gitte Diemer represented Buddinge School. Ms. Anne Mette & Ms. Mette represented Ved Sorene school.
Food plays an important role in Hindu festivals and various home cooked delicacies were offered to the invitees. Teachers from Danish schools were very happy with the whole experience and expressed their joyful feelings..
