Dear Readers, advertisers and well-wishers

This week it is more a sort of announcement, apology and appeal than the conventional editorial.

As all of us are aware, we not just as a nation, but entire humanity is going through an extra-ordinary health emergency in the form of Corona Pandemic that originated from China. The twenty-one days lockdown and subsequent urge to maintain physical distancing to avoid further spread of the infection, has put everyone into an unprecedented situation.

Since 1947, Organiser Weekly has tried its best to be true to its tagline – Voice of the Nation. Even during difficult times like the partition or National Emergency, we took heroic efforts to print our weekly edition of Organiser despite the censorship and ban from the then Governments causing disruptions in 1948-49 and 1975-77. Needless to say, that was out of pure compulsion and not out of volition. But as the present health emergency demands some drastic steps, in the national interest, with a very heavy heart, we, at Bharat Prakashan, have decided to stop the physical printing of Organiser Weekly till the situation is normalised.

However, we will continue to serve our committed readers through the web-edition. Our daily updates will be available on our web portal www.orgaiser.org, and our weekly E-edition in the PDF format will be published every Sunday as per our schedule. We will distribute the e-copies of the weekly to our readers and distributors through various digital platforms and emails.

We had announced to present a special edition dedicated to Dr Vishnu Shridhar Wakankar Ji, an eminent archaeologist, who made an immense contribution by providing an indigenous perspective to the study of history and architecture. Apart from this, his contribution to the other fields like art and culture, numismatic science, literature, linguistics, epigraphy etc. is unparalleled in many ways. He was also one of the key founders of Sanskar
Bharati, an organisation of artists dedicated to the conservation of Bharatiya arts and culture. As his birth centenary celebration is coming to a close, instead of presenting a special edition, we have to limit ourselves to a special tribute to this great son of Bharat in the changed circumstances.

We hope you all will support our endeavour in these difficult circumstances and continue your association with Organiser Weekly. As soon as the situation permits, we will resume our services in the print form. That is our solemn assurance. Till then, take care, stay home, read Organiser, write to the editor ([email protected]), reconnect to your inner-self and cherish the quality time with your family. While doing so, do not forget to follow the prescribed health instructions in letter and spirit.

On behalf of the entire team of Bharat Prakashan Delhi Limited, Best Wishes for the Bharatiya New Year, Yugabdh 5122. May this New Year reinvigorate our collective will to face new challenges and convert them into opportunities!
