India?s second confirmed case of Novel Coronavirus reported in Kerala

The second positive case of Novel Coronavirus has been reported in Kerala. In a statement, Press Information Bureau has confirmed that one more patient tested positive for Novel Coronavirus.
The patient has travel history from China and had reportedly returned from China on January 24. Reports suggest that the patient was studying at Wuhan University.
According to the PIB statement, the patient is stable but in isolation and is being closely monitored. The patient has been reportedly admitted to the Government Medical College Hospital in Alappuzha.
“The patient has tested positive for Novel Coronavirus and is in isolation in the hospital. The patient is stable and is being closely monitored,” media reports quoted health ministry officials as saying.
However, the state health minister KK Shailaja said that the confirmation was based on an initial test result and the final and detailed test result is still awaited.
According to Kerala Health ministry, one person each from Thrissur, Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, and Malappuram and three from Ernakulam district have been kept in isolation at various hospitals. In Kerala, around 1,700 people are under observation in 10 different hospitals for possible exposure to the virus.
