Leh: Arogya Foundation of India is the first-ever organisation that held ten medical camps in Ladakh from September 16 to 21 2019 immediately after the border state sandwiched between Pakistan and China was declared Union Territory. The camps turned out to be very successful as they helped the hitherto neglected people of both the districts of Leh and Kargil receive much needed medical help and advice. The camps were supported by IRCON International. The doctors came from far places of the country to provide medical care to the tribal and rural brethren of Ladakh. They included Dr Harish Anand from Delhi, Dr Sarita Mittal, gynecologist from Delhi, Dr Mukul Bhatia, surgeon from Ranchi, Dr TN Satpathy from Bhubaneswar and Dr Mahesh Sanghavi, Ayurvedic surgeon from Mumbai. About 1,300 patients were examined during the medical camps. The Arogya Foundation has decided to hold more such camps in the border areas in the days to come.
