Dr Mohan Bhagwat, Sarsanghachalak of RSS, released a book and a website dedicated to senior RSS Pracharak Late Dattopant Thengadi ji yesterday in Nagpur. The event commemorating the centenary of Thangadi ji, was held at Reshimbhag in Nagpur. Former speaker of Lok Sabha Smt. Sumitra Mahajan and General Secretary of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh Virjesh Upadhyay shared the dais. The event was graced by many prominent personalities from all walks of life.
Mohan Bhagwat ji spoke on the contributions of Dattopant Thengadi ji. He recalled his association with him and the organisations which Thengadi ji founded. Books on Thengadi ji was launched by the chief guests on the occasion.
Later, Bhagwat ji launched the portal dedicated to Dattopant Thengadi and his works. The portal https://dbthengadi.in/ hosts a collection of his works, books, articles on various subjects, tributes to Thengadi ji from prominent personalities from across the country, photo & video gallery and a ‘Smriti Samvad’ – which is a repository of video tribute by many leaders to Thengadi ji. A documentary on the life and work of Thengadi was shown on the occasion.
Popularly called as ‘Rashtrarishi’ for his unparalleled contribution, Dattopant Thengadi was a visionary architect who created mass organisations like Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Swadeshi Jagaran Manch and many other encountering stiff opposition from various quarters and molded them according to Bharatiya ethos.
