Ever since the amendment to Article 370 and reorganization of J&K, it is as though the ground beneath the feet of terrorists aided by Pakistan has been pulled out. They are running like headless chicken with many of their ‘masters’ in Kashmir under detention. The only voices which speak for them are restricted to a few TV studios in New Delhi and Pakistan. The curfew that had been imposed was adding to their woes. Hence ever since the curfew was relaxed a few days ago, terrorists are seeing an opportunity to return to their old ways. But the tight security has forced them to attack weak and innocent targets, like civilians and truck drivers.

In a shameful instance of the cowardice of the Islamic terrorists, they have attacked a truck loaded with apples at Sindhu Shirmal in Shopian south Kashmir at around 8 PM on Monday. Now as the economy of Kashmir is certain to bounce up after re-organisation, it is evident that the terrorists and their funders in Pakistan want to target the economy of Kashmir. In the cowardly attack, the truck driver was killed as the co-driver managed to escape. It has been reported that the apple truck was also set on fire by the terrorists. The local police reached the spot and conducted an investigation.

As soon as the news of the attack on the apple truck reached Srinagar, additional forces have been rushed to the area. In an official statement the J&K police have stated that the preliminary investigation revealed that the terrorists shot dead a civilian named Sarif Khan who was a truck driver by profession and was a native of Uba village in Bharatpur of Rajasthan. He was in the Shirmal village loading apples onto his truck when the attack took place. The villagers tried to save the civilian but the terrorists thrashed the villagers as well and the committed the gruesome crime. As per the initial investigation, terrorists group of JeM (Jaish-e-Mohammed) and HM (Hizbul Mujahideen) are behind this terror act, said the statement.

Intelligence agencies have alerted all security agencies including Jammu and Kashmir Police about the new strategy of the terrorists. As per a report on JammuKashmirNow, the alert hints that a conspiracy is being hatched to repeat the “Pulwama suicide attack” on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. After this alert, the security agencies have increased the security on the highway as well as enhancing the monitoring of all security posts.

ANI has also reported that the terrorists have planned to attack the convoy of government vehicles on Jammu Srinagar National Highway using an explosive laden car or IED. To execute this, a local terrorist who is an expert in IEDs has been assigned this task.

According to another input received by the intelligence agencies, it has been confirmed that the Lashkar-e-Taiba militants have been entrusted with the responsibility to attacking the convoy. The intelligence input says that the terrorists of Hizbul Mujahideen, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad have held several secret meetings with the top brass of ISI and Pakistan Army and have planned another attack similar to Pulwama. Their Pakistani bosses have entrusted the responsibility of the terrorist attacks to these three terrorist organizations. The input also suggests that the Pak establishment has asked the terorrists to attack security agencies and leaders in Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of India. As part of this plan, it was decided in the same meeting that Hizbul Mujahideen will be entrusted with the responsibility of forcibly shutting down the valley and attacking the leaders.

After these intelligence inputs from several different sources, Indian security agencies are on full alert and are taking every step to stop terror attacks.
