New Delhi: RSS Sahsarkaryavah Shri Suresh Soni stressed the need to follow the message of Swami Vivekananda in practical life. “Instead of confining his views and messages to books, the challenge before all of us today is how to implement them in practice. Wherever we are we should ensure how we can follow Vivekananda in practice,” he said while releasing a book, ‘Essential Vivekananda’ written by Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal organising secretary Shri Mukul Kanitkar and Shri Anup A.J. The book has been published by Rupa Publications, New Delhi. Swami Shantatmanand from Ramakrishna Mission, Delhi BJP president Shri Manoj Tiwari and national president of Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal Dr Sachchidanand Joshi were also present.
“Swamji studied western thoughts but he did not forget his Bharat. While enjoying the lavish life of Europe he did forget the plight of his own countrymen too. He strongly criticised the wrong practices in the society and took corrective steps also,” Shri Soni added.
Swami Shantatmanand said whenever one reads Vivekananda one gets something new. He inspired people in every walk of life. Shri Manoj Tiwari said there was a time when foreign scholars were widely quoted in the Indian Parliament but now Swami Vivekananda is frequently quoted by different members. Shri Mukul Kanitkar, while quoting Tagore said if one wants to understand Bharat one should understand Ramakrishna Paramhansa and if one wants to understand Ramakrishna Paramhansa one should understand Vivekananda. Tagore said everything in Vivekananda was positive, nothing negative. He said Roma Rola never met Ramakrishna Paramhansa, but he wrote inspiring life sketch of the great Indian saint. Earlier, Shri Anup A.J, while introducing the book, said the book is the compilation of some essential portions from Swami Vivekananda’s collected work, which should be read by everyone.
