Adv KP Prakash Babu

KP Prakash Babu, Kerala state unit president of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha and BJP candidate in Kozhikode constituency, was remanded to police custody for 14 days after a judicial magistrate court rejected his appeal for bail in a case registered in connection with the Sabarimala protests.

Shri Prakash Babu has been booked allegedly under a false case registered by the state police. The BJP leader is facing at least eight cases related to Sabarimala protests. He is planning to move his bail plea at the District Court on Friday.

Thousands of devotees and RSS-BJP workers have been falsely implicated in criminal cases for protesting against the state government’s undue haste in implementing the verdict without considering the Hindu sentiments.

Similarly, BJP Kerala state general secretary, K Surendran was also charged under several politically motivated cases and jailed for more than two weeks in connection with Sabarimala protests. Surendran is now contesting from Pathanamthitta parliamentary constituency where Sabarimala is situated.
